Why We Launched PuppetsIreland.ie – A Second Home for Our Puppet Collection
If you’ve been shopping with us for a while, you may have noticed how much our puppet range has grown in recent years. Puppets have become one of the most loved collections and best selling range on Mimitoys.ie. Parents, teachers, play therapists, SNAs, and speech and language professionals often tell us how helpful puppets are in encouraging creativity, communication, and emotional expression in children.
So in 2022, I decided to launch a new, dedicated puppet website: PuppetsIreland.ie. A home for everything puppet-related.
Why a second website?
Over time, I have realised that people looking for puppets needed a more focused experience. and did not want to be distracted by "other stuff". Schools, therapists and educators were often typing search terms like “puppets Ireland” or “puppets for schools.” The name Puppets Ireland is simple, clear, and ranks well on Google! It does what it says on the tin. An Irish business, based in Ireland that sells puppets.
While Mimitoys.ie will always offer a broad range of educational toys, arts and crafts and puppets, PuppetsIreland.ie is now where you’ll find our complete puppet collection—from finger puppets to large storytelling puppets and everything in between.
What stays the same?
Everything! We’re still the same small Irish family-run business based in Summerhill, Co. Meath. All stock on Puppets Ireland is here with us, ready for fast dispatch with An Post. It’s the same team (Myriam), same quality, and same no-frills, eco-conscious packaging.
A personal note...
I started Mimitoys.ie in 2004 because I believed in the power of play to support children’s development and because I wanted to build a small, values-led business while raising my four children. Those kids are now in secondary school and college, but I’m still just as passionate about play and open-ended toys.
With Puppets Ireland, we’re doubling down on what me and my family love and what our customers love too.
